There is an elective for everyone and students' schedules are very flexible.
Additionally, Cypress has over 100 different classes that they offer at all different levels. The different international perspectives brings a unique vibe to the school. First off, the student body is extremely diverse almost 5,000 kids from around the world. Senior: I have had such an amazing experience at Cypress Bay. Thankfully, their are bright students that go to this school and it still provides a rocking experience, despite it being a somewhat rocky. Although the school offers resources, most are not that advantageous and sometimes don't provide the vital information that many students need and that can causes school grades to plummet and food needs some large and extenuating improvements with quality. Their are some minor issues though that resent with the school and those include: food and resources. Many students in this school start with AP classes and end with dual enrollment/higher level educational courses, which are all vital to college prep and learning. It really is one of the hardest schools to go to however, but once you get past the toughness that this school offers, you really understand the potential and power that the school provides. Junior: Suncoast Community High School is wonderful school because of all the things that it offers and provides for it's students. School for Advanced Studies demands that students be self-driven and willing to go beyond and learn outside of the classroom, and for that reason, I think it's a pretty neat school. Though, that's not inherently a bad thing. If you want to take AP science classes, you're going to have to rely on self-study.
Additionally, there are no science teachers. Because there are are only about 120 students throughout the 11th and 12th grade classes, clubs and activities are certainly lacking. The small school size is also a downside as well. The teachers are very friendly and extremely supportive the small school size will allow you to build more intimate relationships with them and with your fellow peers. During the morning, the teachers hold open office hours for students to swing by and ask questions or get tutoring. High school classes are all AP except for Pre-Calculus and are held in the afternoon. Senior: School for Advanced Studies is a really awesome place overall. I've had a great experience! Lots of clubs to join, too. Safety is very good, gym speakers hurt your ears, and people are very nice. If you join PV next year, you will be welcomed to a second giant building instead of scattered portables. Middle school sports teams are decent, cafeteria lunch is mostly plastic except the nachos, and the school's being remodeled currently to be even better. A few words of caution though: There's a bad teacher in every grade, and while I obviously won't name them my friends have had them for classes, and their experiences have ranged from "wait she actually did that" to outright hilarity. I've personally have had all the nice teachers (incredibly lucky), never been bullied or seen someone be bullied (partly because of all the "aides" and the police officer present at campus), and have made many great friends. There is lot of work and studying effort to be done, however success never comes easy.
Middle School Student: It's a great school if you are focused on academics.
